Behemoth release official music video for “In League With Satan” featuring Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir

The formal release of Behemoth‘s latest project, “I, Scvlptor,” has just occurred, as per theprp. Dimmu Borgir vocalist Shagrath appears on the featured cover of Venom’s 1981 song “In League With Satan” in the music video below, which was directed by Dariusz Szermanowicz. Although it isn’t a full-length performance, the Polish blackened death metal band has been giving it the grand treatment.

When we were looking for a name for our tour with Dimmu Borgir, I thought it would be great to use a timeless slogan and basically quote the gods of satanic rock’n’roll – Venom and “In League with Satan” perfectly fit my vision. I honestly don’t remember what came first – the idea for the tour name or the idea of recording the song itself. What matters is that we recorded it on seven-string guitars with Shagrath from Dimmu as a guest vocalist. The song gained a massive weight and a completely new dimension. We’re planning to play it live and I think our version turned into something truly powerful. – Nergal

In 1991, Behemoth was founded as a trio consisting of Desecrator on rhythm guitar, Baal on drums, and Nergal on lead guitar and vocals. “The Return of the Northern Moon” and “Endless Damnation” were their first demos. But the fourth demo was the most important—”…The Pagan Vastlands” (1994). Pagan Records, a Polish label, first issued this tape, followed by Wild Rags. “Sventevith (Storming Near the Baltic)”, their first studio album, was released in 1995.
