The Danish death metal group Baest was founded in Aarhus in 2015. Bæst, which means “beast” or “brute” in Danish, was the original spelling of their name. The group has put out four new albums since joining Century Media Records in March 2018: “Danse Macabre” (2018), “Venenum” (2019), “Necro Sapiens” (2021), and “Colossal” (2025).
Renowned for their thrilling live performances, Baest has performed in over 350 gigs across the globe, enthralling festival crowds of up to 35,000 at prestigious festivals like Bloodstock, Brutal Assault, and Wacken Open Air. Additionally, they have shared stages throughout Europe with some of the most renowned names in metal, including Krisiun, Abbath, and Baest. The band’s common vision continues to be the foundation of their creative process. Guitarist Svend Karlsson adds, “If a riff makes us all smile during rehearsal, it stays in the song.” Their development has been propelled by this philosophy, leading to a collection of 40 original songs, millions of streams, and a devoted worldwide fan base. Extreme metal is being redefined by Baest‘s unwavering desire and intensity.
