Atreyu‘s sophomore album, “The Curse”, which is still one of their best-selling albums, celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2024. The band performed a one-off full-album show at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California, in October to commemorate the milestone. Alex Varkatzas, the band’s frontman who sung on that album, quit Atreyu in 2020. It seems a little strange that Brandon Saller, the drummer, would be singing the lead vocals on an album that Varkatzas originally performed. Despite this, the band decided to extend their celebration by going on tour with Memphis May Fire in Australia in July, where they would perform the entire record. The band revealed yet another tour schedule on Friday, this time in the UK and Europe in 2025, to commemorate what they now refer to as the album’s 20+1 anniversary. The tour begins in late September in Bristol, UK, and ends in October in Hamburg, Germany. The band’s decision to tour this album extensively in Europe and Australia while just performing one anniversary event in their own nation seems a little odd. It is conceivable that a North American tour may eventually be announced.
