Mastodon drummer Brann Dailor’s cosmic synth rock trio Arcadea has returned with a mesmerizing new single, “Exodus of Gravity”, the title track from their upcoming album. The record drops August 22nd via Relapse Records.

Alongside Dailor, the Atlanta-based group features keyboardist João Nogueira and founding member Core Atoms. Following the previously released dance-friendly single “Fuzzy Planet”, this latest offering takes a more expansive, progressive turn, leaning into atmospheric textures and sci-fi vibes.

On “Exodus of Gravity,” Arcadea trades the complex prog stylings of their debut for groove-heavy rhythms and celestial soundscapes. The band paints a vision of a future where gravity has vanished and emotions rule the universe. Recorded at West End Sound inside Mastodon’s own Ember City complex, the album was self-produced by the band, with Tom Tapley handling engineering duties.

Core Atoms’ vision for the album is as far-out as it gets: a journey billions of years into the future, set in a galaxy where AI fuses with microbial life to rebirth the essence of humanity through empathy. The result is a cinematic, interstellar odyssey that still keeps your feet moving on the ground.
