Anthrax push back the release date for new album

Author Benedetta Baldin - 20.3.2026

Fans eagerly expecting the follow-up to Anthrax‘s 2016 album “For All Kings” still have a few months to wait, as per theprp. While mixing for the Jay Ruston-produced effort (Stone Sour, Avatar) ended in November, the thrash metal titans are now planning a late summer/fall release. Originally, the group planned a May release for the album, but they have subsequently settled on a September release. Those who saw the band perform with Megadeth earlier this year were treated to a preview of a new song.

No, it doesn’t come out in May. We’re putting out our first song and video in May. The record is not coming out till September. We pushed it back a little bit. We just had to do a couple of other things to it. And then we had to, of course, get a release date set. So it got moved to September. And that’s it. It’s coming out in September, but the first song and video will be out in May. – Charlie Benante
