Andy Williams (Every Time I Die, Atomic Rule) has passed away

Andy Williams, a former guitarist for Every Time I Die, has passed away after collapsing on Saturday during a wrestling performance in Pennsylvania. Williams’ passing has been verified by TMZ and the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office. Williams was forty-eight. Our deepest sympathies to Williams’ family, friends and loved ones.

Apart from his musical career, Williams was a regular wrestler under the stage name The Butcher. He has previously participated in a number of independent promotions in the Northeast as well as All Elite Wrestling. He apparently passed out on Saturday nite while competing in a tag fight at an Enjoy Wrestling event in Millvale, Pennsylvania. Williams’ legs “buckled” before he hit the ground, according to the wrestling news website Fightful. The Blade, his partner, tried to assist him before Williams “collapsed again and passed out.”

The Buffalo, New York-based American metalcore group Every Time I Die was founded in 1998. The brothers Keith (vocals) and Jordan Buckley (guitar), along with rhythm guitarist Andy Williams, dominated the lineup throughout the most of the band’s existence. Bassist Stephen Micciche also played with the group for a total of 15 of its 24 years. They signed with Epitaph Records in 2008 and stayed there until their breakup in early 2022, having spent the first ten years of their existence on the Ferret Music label. Every Time I Die put out nine studio albums before releasing “Radical”, their last album, in October 2021. The band’s dynamic live performances and ever-evolving sound won them praise.
