Andrew Wetzel, the drummer and keyboardist for Attack Attack!, has revealed that his storage area was recently broken into, as per theprp. Although there was a variety of Attack Attack! merchandise in the storage unit, the criminals chose to leave it all there. In the video below, which was uploaded on July 21st, Wetzel dismissed that development with a giggle.
Someone broke into my storage unit last night, and I just spent like 35 minutes out in the sweltering heat sweating my absolute ass off trying to figure out if they stole something. And I don’t know if they did, and let me be clear, I’m thankful for that, uh, that I don’t think that anything’s missing.
However, now everything’s all messed up, including my poor deceased dog’s shit was strewn everywhere, which is highly disrespectful. And dude, what is going on right now? Don’t do stuff like that. That’s extremely rude. Also, you looked at all that Attack Attack! shirts, all the vinyls and CDs and shirts didn’t sell, and you were like, ‘God, what a loser,’ and then you just left all my shit. So you know what? Thank you. I needed that.
While participating in local high school bands, Johnny Franck, Andrew Whiting, Nick White, and Andrew Wetzel met Austin Carlile, which led to the formation of Attack Attack! in 2007. The band changed their name to Attack Attack! after Caleb Shomo joined as keyboardist! In order to promote their music, the band went into a nearby studio and recorded content that was posted on MySpace. For the majority of the year, Wetzel, the band’s eldest member, also served as its manager. In May 2008, the band was signed to Rise Records by manager Eric Rushing of The Artery Foundation. Contractual talks required parental approval because the band members were still minors.
The 2007 recordings were combined as the EP “If Guns Are Outlawed, Can We Use Swords?”. Additionally, booking agent David Shapiro of the Agency Group signed the band, which led to concerts around the country.
