After The Burial cancel all upcoming shows of 2026

After The Burial have cancelled their planned 2026 performances in Australia and Japan following changes to Northlane’s touring schedule. At the same time, the American metalcore band have offered fans a more encouraging update: they intend to return in 2027 with a new record.

The Australian dates had been tied to a Northlane tour that was recently postponed to May 2027. Without those shows, After The Burial say that continuing with the planned Japanese dates is no longer practical for logistical reasons.

Tour changes and new music plans

In a statement posted on their social media, the band said they were disappointed to miss the opportunity to return to both countries. The group attributed the decision to the loss of the Australian dates rather than suggesting a separate problem with the Japanese shows. Ticket holders were advised to watch for information from their respective ticket vendors.

The band’s message also looked ahead to a return next year, adding that they plan to be back with another album. Work on the group’s seventh studio record began earlier this year, but the latest update does not include a title, confirmed release date or any rescheduled Japanese concerts.

That distinction matters for fans planning travel: After The Burial have expressed their intention to return, but a new itinerary has not been announced. The 2026 cancellations should not be confused with Northlane’s separate postponed schedule.

After The Burial’s last full-length album, Evergreen, was released in 2019. A seventh album would mark the band’s first LP since then, following more recent standalone music.

Read the band’s announcement on Instagram.

Due to the cancellation of the Northlane tour, we regret to announce that we will no longer be performing in Australia or Japan this year. Unfortunately, the loss of the Australian dates has made it logistically impossible for us to move forward with our scheduled shows in Japan.

We were looking forward to returning to both countries and are disappointed that we won’t be able to make it happen this year. We plan to return next year with a new record and look forward to seeing you all then.

Ticket holders should check their emails for further information from the respective ticketing partners.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
