Earlier this month, Ahren Stringer, a former bassist and vocalist for The Amity Affliction, appeared in court, as per theprp. According to Blunt, Stringer was charged with five offences when he appeared in Benalla Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, April 21.
According to Blunt, who cited court documents, the allegations are related to an event that happened in the Benalla, Australia area last year. During these preliminary sessions, no plea has been made thus far, and the case has been postponed until May 26. According to reports, Stringer was fired from The Amity Affliction in February 2025, and he quickly filed a lawsuit. In May 2025, Stringer and Gus Farias (formerly Volumes) launched a new concept called Self Checkout.
Over the years, the aforementioned couple would utilise the band as a way to express their battles with addiction and mental health. A few months after starting that band, in September of last year, Stringer was admitted to the hospital due to a severe and unanticipated emergency. Stringer and The Amity Affliction have parted ways musically; the band recently released “House Of Cards,” their first album without him. However, it appears that the complex structure of their corporate relationships and the band’s financial circumstances have prevented the two sides from ending their relationship amicably just yet.
