A promising debut album – review of “Unadulterated” by Roman Candle

Author Benedetta Baldin - 18.4.2026

Who says that new bands don’t have anything interesting to say? If you agree with this question, then please stick around, because this Las Vegas band is about to prove you wrong. They’re called Roman Candle, and they’re about to release their debut album called “Unadulterated” on April 24th, 2026.

Built on Piper Ferrari’s raw, unfiltered vocal delivery and a band operating at full emotional tilt, the album coils and snaps like something barely contained. You won’t be able to sit still when you’re listening, and soon you’ll wish that you’ll be in the middle of a moshpit or a wall of death. Yes, they’re THAT evocative!

The dynamics change suddenly from tight control to explosive release, giving you no time to think, only to react. The band channels emotions with surgical precision: Jonas Vece’s guitar work is relentless and powerful, Sergio Lopez’s bass adds weight and danger, and Alex Dupuis’s drumming pushes everything toward collapse. This single here below is my favorite track with “Lady Lazarus“!

Beyond the band’s ferocity, the singles also reinforces just how sharp Roman Candles rollout for “Unadulterated” has been.
Each tracks reveals a different facet of the band’s emotional and sonic extremes without giving away the full picture. It’s a rare debut campaign that feels this intentional. The mixing, mastering, and overall production quality across every release has been remarkably strong too — polished enough to hit hard, but raw enough to preserve the volatility that defines their sound. For a debut album, the level of cohesion and clarity is genuinely impressive.

Roman Candle is not only one of the most interesting new bands in screamo, but they are also showing that they can use vulnerability, obsession, and chaos as weapons with terrifying accuracy. Get ready for a sonic attack that will come out in a few days. Roman Candle will really blow you away: you have no choice.
