Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson performed the Maiden classic “Wasted Years” with Smith/Kotzen, a joint venture between Iron Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith and The Winery Dogs frontman and well-known solo artist Richie Kotzen, on February 21 at O2 Shepherds Bush Empire in London, UK, as per Blabbermouth. Below is a fan-shot video of Bruce‘s appearance. “Wasted Years” was originally written by Smith for the 1986 album “Somewhere In Time” by Maiden.
Iron Maiden, the forerunners of the new wave of British heavy metal, put out a number of platinum and gold albums in the US and the UK, including their debut album in 1980, “Killers” in 1981, and “The Number of the Beast” in 1982. Dickinson became the band’s first lead singer in 1981, replacing Paul Di’Anno. Their career took a dramatic shift when Dickinson joined, making them one of the most significant bands in heavy metal. With nearly 20 million copies sold globally, “The Number of the Beast” is one of the most well-known heavy metal albums ever.
