Heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne has been working on a follow-up to his “Ordinary Man” album during the pandemic. Osbourne’s new album features guest appearances by Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi and guitarists Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Zakk Wylde.
Wylde now talks a little about his involvement with the album in a recent interview with Music Radar:
“The new Ozzy stuff is sounding great. And for sure, it’s an honor to play on a record with all my heroes. It’s pretty cool… I can’t wait for everyone to hear it. I’ve always loved ‘Blow By Blow’ and ‘Wired’, but honestly, every record Jeff Beck has put out is amazing.”
When the interviewer comments that Jeff Beck’s playing must sound great, Wylde replies:
“It definitely sounds slamming. The same goes for all the guys – what Tony Iommi played, and then Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck, it’s all killer for sure. On those tracks I’m playing rhythm guitar for my heroes… it’s crazy! It sounds awesome and I’m beyond honoured to be doing it.”
Other musicians featured on the album include Robert Trujillo of Metallica, Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters and Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers, according to previous reports.
