Drummer Zak Starkey, who has been a touring member of the band for 29 years, has been fired by The Who. Following accusations of a fight with vocalist Roger Daltrey that surfaced during the band’s most recent performances at London’s Royal Albert Hall, the son of Ringo Starr was let go. Starkey appeared to have been aware of the transfer prior to its announcement, based on a humorous social media remark. But according to the Mirror, a source claimed that the breakup was “a little acrimonious to say the least.” According to some reports, Starkey’s playing technique changed after he had to cancel an engagement with the band Mantra Of The Cosmos in January due to a blood clot in his thigh.
