Yungblud reveals the best advice that was given to him from the Prince of Darkness

Yungblud shared with Steve-O the best suggestion he ever received from Ozzy Osbourne on a recent podcast episode, as reported from Loudwire. Steve-O’s Wild Ride! recently had Yungblud as a guest, and they discussed the musician’s history with Ozzy in great detail. This past July, he was one of several musicians selected to play at Black Sabbath‘s renowned “Back to the Beginning” performance, where he performed a highly appreciated cover of the Vol. 4 song “Changes.” Yungblud mentioned some advice that The Prince of Darkness gave him that has stayed with him when talking about his bond with the late icon. He called it a “passive statement” that, after some consideration, gained a great deal of significance.

Never compromise — they’ll get it later. A lot of people always had an issue with my energy and people would think I’m too nuts… People find it hard to believe that I’m actually fucking like this all the time. And after kicking it with Sharon she said he saw a little bit of himself in me, not because we made the same music [but] because we’re fucking a bit nuts.

According to Yungblud, he frequently went out in Los Angeles with Kelly Osbourne, who introduced him to Ozzy and Sharon. During the 2022 release of his song “The Funeral,” he had once asked Kelly if she would like to appear in the music video. She was on tour with Slipknot and Sid Wilson at the time, so she declined, but because her parents were in Los Angeles so she put Yungblud in touch with them.

You know when people say ‘Don’t meet your heroes’? Ozzy, my whole life, has always been my North Star because I’ve just been mental. I’ve been crazy and fucking out there and he was accepted for his madness and he was loved for his madness.

Ozzy made a salami sandwich for Yungblud before the filming started, and when he arrived on the set of “The Funeral,” his rider had a French baguette, salami, and ginger beer. They became friends after that, and Ozzy even gave Yungblud a crucifix, which the rocker has been wearing frequently ever since.
