Author Benedetta Baldin - 12.1.2026

Details have now been revealed about Puscifer‘s venture into the world of comic books, as per theprp. The alternative rock project has launched a new series titled “Tales From The Pusciverse,” with the first issue now available at puscifer.com. The band’s mysterious frontman, Maynard James Keenan, authored this issue, which features artwork by Marlin Shoop (“G.I. Joe,” “Captain Action”) and Andy Bellanger (“Friday the 13th,” “Kill Shakespeare”).

The debut installment of the series centers on a recent addition to the Pusciverse: the character Bellendia Black. She was first introduced in the band’s “Pendulum” music video last fall.

I remember how excited I was as an elementary school kid when Wolverine was first introduced in one of the Hulk issues. Called neighborhood dibs immediately (long before cosplay was a named thing). Seeing Bellendia Black in print brings back all of those joyful school kid memories. – Maynard James Keenan

Puscifer’s leap into comics with Maynard Keenan isn’t merch or novelty – it’s an extension of their long-running conversation with the absurd. The book hums with the same tension as the music: satire wrapped in menace, humor sharpened into philosophy. I’m glad I could be a part of that and bring it to their vision. – Marlin Shoop

You can see Keenan introduce this new persona in the director’s cut of the “Pendulum” music video below. Future installments of the series will highlight other characters, such as Fanny Grey and The Synth Whisperer.

Puscifer’s upcoming album, “Normal Isn’t,” is set to be released on February 6th, accompanied by a tour featuring comedian Dave Hill to promote it.
