Author Benedetta Baldin - 8.5.2026
The new studio album “Eclipse” by German symphonic metal band Xandriawill be released by Napalm Records on August 7, 2026, as per Blabbermouth. Eleven tracks from the upcoming full-length album make up the most varied body of work in the band’s record to date; each song has a unique character and is a voyage full of discoveries, yet they are all part of the same world. Low-tuned contemporary metal guitars coexist with classic, ’80s-inspired metal riffs; dramatic orchestral sounds mingle with Celtic folk influences; dark electronic elements mix with intimate rock moments, including a guitar solo that owes more to Pink Floyd than to any metal genre.
“The Shannon’s Home” is Xandria’s first offering cut from the forthcoming album. Driven by Ambre Vourvahis’s soaring vocals, the song combines folk elements, mystical melodies, and cinematic magnificence. Xandria, which is both intimate and majestic, demonstrates once more that it is one of the scene’s top acts. The official music video for “The Shannon’s Home” is shown below, and it is currently accessible on all streaming services across the globe. “Eclipse” is Xandria’s most vocal and cinematic album to date. It is a dark, vibrant, and defiant statement for reason, empathy, and democracy in times when all three are under attack, brought to life by a band driven by fresh enthusiasm, aspirations, and a distinct artistic direction, aiming higher than ever.
A song like a beautiful, slightly dark fairytale — which makes sense, as it is an analogy of life, pictured as the river Shannon, flowing from its source to the sea. And just one of the many colorful facets of our new album, which will be a journey full of diverse elements and surprises. We felt this song had a mysterious magic that captured our hearts from the very beginning. In fact, it was the first song we wrote for this next voyage of wonders — so we instantly knew this was the first song we wanted you all to hear. For all you wonderful people out there — enjoy. – Marco Heubaum
