“Worse forwards than backwards”: Slipknot hints at anniversary edition

With an alleged July 21st announcement date set, Slipknot‘s recently launched teaser website, 742617000027.net, is taking fans on a bit of a journey. Fans were being rerouted from youcantkillme.com, a teaser website that the masked metal band had previously used for the 25th anniversary of their self-titled album. You should be able to access the new website by using the code “comeplaydying.” The term itself has been linked to previous merchandise and a limited-edition digipak of the album of the same name. Meanwhile, the phrase “worse forwards than backwards”—also linked to the “Slipknot” digipak art—is featured in both the previously stated new teaser website and a recently published photograph on the band’s social media of several recordings from the self-titled sessions this week (see below). It’s rather obvious what’s coming when you consider that the teaser website described above has the same name as a song from the Iowa band’s two-time multi-platinum self-titled album.
