American blackened deathcore outfit Worm Shepherd have unleashed their latest single “Whispers of a Buried Land” alongside an official video, giving fans the first taste of their upcoming EP “Dawn Of The Iconoclast”. The track arrived on January 23, 2026 through Unique Leader Records and previews the band’s return after a two year break.

The new song clocks in over seven minutes and dives deep into the band’s blackened deathcore roots, blending creeping atmosphere with crushing riffs and intense orchestration. At the same time, it serves as the closing track on the forthcoming EP, which is set for release on February 20, 2026.

Since forming in Brockton, Massachusetts in 2020, Worm Shepherd have built a reputation for expansive and genre bending heaviness. Their sound fuses technical deathcore with symphonic and blackened elements, while still keeping a sharp focus on brutality and mood. The current lineup features Tre Perdue on guitars, Leo McClain on drums, Thomas O’Malley on bass, Harry Tadayon on guitars, and Ian Smith on vocals.

Guitarist Tre Perdue has also commented on the band’s current momentum, pointing to the chemistry within the revamped lineup. According to him, each member brings a strong creative voice, which allows the band to push their sound further while staying true to their core identity.
