UK black metal outfit Winterfylleth have released their new single “Echoes In The After”, taken from the upcoming album “The Unyielding Season”. The record arrives on March 27, 2026 via Napalm Records and marks the band’s ninth full length.
The band wrote the track in response to the 2023 felling of the famous Robin Hood tree at Sycamore Gap, located along Hadrian’s Wall in North East England. However, the lyrics also draw from a 16th century poem found in “The Countess Of Pembroke’s Arcadia” by Sir Philip Sidney. As a result, the song connects a modern cultural loss with historic English literature.
“Echoes In The After” follows the previously released “Heroes of a Hundred Fields”. While that earlier single leaned into a more epic sound, the new track highlights melancholy and restraint. Therefore, the two songs together reveal the wider emotional range of the forthcoming album.
Earlier this year, the band signed with Napalm Records after years with Candlelight Records. The new partnership introduces a fresh chapter for the group as they prepare to unveil “The Unyielding Season” in full.
