Will Metallica play the Sphere in the future? Here’s what we know
The UK tabloid The Sun reports that Metallica is engaged in “deep discussions with executives” regarding a potential residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada, scheduled for 2027, as per Lambgoat. These claims are not novel, as similar rumors have previously circulated. As early as the previous summer, Vital Vegas suggested the possibility of a residency in Fall 2026.
Metallica having a residency at the Sphere is all anyone is talking about on the Strip. They have been to see the bosses and met all the tech team to talk through and plan out a show in principle. The contracts are still to be signed but we were told they are 90 per cent there. Metallica will bring a different feel to a show there and there is a lot of excitement from bosses at the Sphere about what this could look like.

Established in 2017 as a way to give back to communities that have supported Metallica over the years, All Within My Hands has raised over $20 million, providing $11.4 million in grants to career and technical education programs, including the ground-breaking Metallica Scholars Initiative, now in its seventh year, over $7.4 million to combat food insecurity, and more than $4.7 million to disaster relief efforts.
