While She Sleeps’ Mat Welsh to sit out immediate tour

British metalcore band While She Sleeps will undertake their upcoming Scandinavian tour without guitarist Mat Welsh. The shows will continue with a yet-to-be-announced replacement, as Welsh stays home for the birth of his first child. The band issued the following statement today (February 19th):

“For the first time in 18 years, we will be performing without our brother Mat on the upcoming Scandinavian headline tour, but this doesn’t come without good reason and our complete support. We are very proud to say that he will be staying home for the birth of his first child & welcoming the newest member of the Sleeps family into the world.

During this time he will be taking a short break from touring to support & focus on his family. We have a very trusted friend filling in on vocal & rhythm duties (announced very soon) & would not be continuing with the shows if we didn’t fully believe we could do them justice without him. Send your support to Mat, his family & know he’ll be back on stage real soon ♥️”
