What is Slipknot teasing?

A teaser site for Slipknot has recently begun circulating across the band’s fan communities and via physical promotional advertisements in select cities, as per theprp. The promotional materials direct fans to unlock.slipknot1.com, a landing page displaying the band’s logo alongside the numbers “09” and “28.” Because production is actively ongoing for the masked metal titan’s forthcoming eighth studio album, fans are speculating that an upcoming tour announcement is on the horizon to help launch the new record cycle.

According to posts on the band’s Reddit fan community, advertisements have already been spotted in major U.S. cities, including San Francisco, CA; Hershey, PA; Houston, TX; Chicago, IL; and Washington, DC. Additional flyers have also surfaced internationally and across North and South America, covering Los Angeles, CA; Toronto, ON; Bogotá, Colombia; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Mexico City, Mexico.

Slipknot have been working on their eighth studio album with producer Matt Wallace, known for his work with Faith No More and Mushroomhead. However, despite the recent debut of their divisive new single “Arsenal,” the new full-length record does not appear to be imminent. Guitarist Jim Root clarified that “Arsenal” is a standalone single that will not be included on the upcoming album, noting earlier this month that tracking for the new record is still actively underway.

Percussionist Shawn Crahan, singer Anders Colsefni, and bassist Paul Grey founded the American heavy metal group Slipknot in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1995. From 1999 until Gray’s passing in 2010, the band had nine members—Crahan, Grey, Joey Jordison, Craig Jones, Mick Thomson, Corey Taylor, Sid Wilson, Chris Fehn, and Jim Root—after a number of lineup changes in its early years. Slipknot is well-known for their eye-catching appearance, combative musical style, and exuberant, wild live performances. “Mate. Kill. Feed. Repeat.”, the band’s first demo record was a failure, but once their first self-titled studio album, “Slipknot”, was released in 1999, they quickly became well-known worldwide.

Slipknot‘s 2001 album, “Iowa,” despite its darker and more aggressive sound, propelled the band to greater fame. Following a short break, they released “Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)” in 2004. This was followed by another hiatus before their comeback in 2008 with “All Hope Is Gone,” which immediately topped the US Billboard 200. Slipknottook another extended break before finally releasing their fifth studio album, “.5: The Gray Chapter,” in 2014. The band put out their sixth studio album, “We Are Not Your Kind,” in August 2019. Three years later, on September 30, 2022, they followed up with their seventh studio album, “The End, So Far”. In addition to these studio albums, they have also recorded two live performances, documented as “9.0: Live” and “Day of the Gusano: Live in Mexico”.
