What is going on between Sid Wilson and Slipknot?

Author Benedetta Baldin - 1.8.2026

DJ Sid Wilson, an original member of Slipknot, is reportedly no longer with the masked metal group, as per theprp. According to TMZ, Wilson was let go from the band on July 31st. An unidentified source with firsthand knowledge of the circumstances was quoted in the article. Wilson and his daring pranks had long been a part of the band, even though he was not a founding member. Only four of the original nine members are still in the group, and he was regarded as one of the classic era members. Paul Grey and Joey Jordison were two of the members that died. Years before he passed away, the latter was let go from the band. Craig Jones left in 2023, and Chris Fehn’s dismissal was followed by a legal battle.

Vocalist Corey Taylor and percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan have been the band’s successful shot callers in recent years, along with their management, according to previous legal conflicts with band members who were fired. After more than a year off the road, Slipknot has been working on new music lately. This past March, Wilson and Kelly Osbourne called it quits on their engagement. Together, they have a child. Jim Root, the band’s guitarist, made a suggestive statement on his Instagram story following the startling news. His remarks seem to apply to Wilson’s purported dismissal and the hypotheses surrounding it that have been flooding comment sections ever since, even though they don’t specifically mention the scenario.
