Wes Borland, the guitarist for Limp Bizkit, caused a stir on social media this week when he posted a photograph to his Instagram story with the following statement denouncing Trump’s followers, as per theprp. That post became popular on a number of websites, including Reddit and others. By no means is Borland’s criticism of Trump a recent development. In 2016, the eccentric guitarist posted a scathing tirade against the then-presidential candidate and made a similar appeal to Trump fans. However, Tom Morello of Rage Against Against The Machine, a staunch opponent of many aspects of Trump, took notice of Borland’s most recent post. In response to a screen grab of Borland’s appeal on X, Morello added the following poetic allusion to Limp Bizkit.
Although Rage Against The Machine had a significant early effect on Limp Bizkit and were regularly covered live by the nu metal kingpins, relations between some members of the two groups have been icy at best. Back in 2016, Rage Against The Machine bassist Tim Commerford took a direct jab at Limp Bizkit.
I do apologize for Limp Bizkit, I really do. I feel really bad that we inspired such b*llshit. They’re gone, though. That’s the beautiful thing. There’s only one left, and that’s Rage, and as far as I’m concerned, we’re the only one that matters.
Commerford’s apparent grudge with Limp Bizkit extends back decades to his notorious MTV VM, however his remarks seem somewhat ironic in light of how things have transpired in the years following.in opposition to Limp Bizkit‘s acceptance speech.
