Day two of Wacken’s 35th anniversary edition turned into a genre rollercoaster: black metal from Craft and Spectral Wound, Def Leppard‘s long-overdue Wacken debut under the festival’s first rain, and a once-only Sventevith set pairing Nergal with Misþyrming. Joey Tempest walked the gap between two stages during a singalong, Savatage closed with an unexpected tribute to Jon Oliva, and the night ended on pure black metal chaos.
