Vomitory announce new album “In Death Throes” and drop latest single

Swedish death metal institution Vomitory will release their new full-length, “In Death Throes”, on April 10 through Metal Blade Records. At the same time, the band has shared the first single, “For Gore And Country”, alongside a new video.

Formed in 1989, the Swedish outfit built its name on eight relentless albums between 1996 and 2011. The band split in 2013 but returned to the stage in 2019 for its 30th anniversary. In 2023, they dropped the comeback record “All Heads Are Gonna Roll”. Now, they continue that run with “In Death Throes”.

Drummer Tobias Gustafsson says the new material follows the path of the previous album. However, he adds that the band pushed the intensity even further this time. New guitarist Christian Fredriksson quickly found his role and contributed music to four tracks. As a result, the album adds small twists without losing the core Vomitory sound.

The band recorded drums and vocals at Leon Music Studios in Karlstad with producer Rikard Löfgren. Meanwhile, guitars and bass were tracked at Goff Studios, with Fredriksson handling engineering duties. Lawrence Mackrory mixed and mastered the album at Rorysound Studios in Uppsala. Consequently, the final result sounds heavy but still clear and dynamic.

The new single, “For Gore And Country”, moves at full speed from the start. It blends classic grind sections with pounding mid-tempo parts built for headbanging. According to Gustafsson, the song mirrors the relentless march described in the lyrics.
