Swiss black metal band Vígljós have released the official video for their latest single, “A Seed of Aberration”, the second track to surface from their upcoming full-length album “Tome II: Ignis Sacer”. The album is scheduled for release on September 19 through Les Acteurs de L’Ombre Productions.

Formed in Basel in 2022, the band recorded the album at Hutch Sounds in Oberwil, with Marc Obrist of Zeal & Ardor fame handling recording, mixing, and mastering. “Tome II: Ignis Sacer” continues the bands’ blend of raw ’90s-style black metal and atmospheric elements. Artwork for the release comes from Adrian Smith, with layout by Luca Piazzalonga.

Lyrically, the album digs into some unusual but fascinating territory. Alongside ergotism and the effects of the Claviceps fungus, Vígljós draw on themes of apiarism—using the image of bees and hives as metaphors for society, art, and medicine. This unique conceptual approach ties into their interest in the strange intersections of nature and human culture.
