Video footage available of Turnstile performing ‘I Wanna Be Adored’ by The Stone Roses

British indie rockers The Stone Roses have been covered in-studio by melodic hardcore stars Turnstile, as per theprp. They chose “I Wanna Be Adored,” a 1989 song; the performance was for Australian radio station Triple J’s ongoing Like A Version tour. Turnstile performed their own song “SUNSHOWER” live while they were in the studio.

She added that the cover was partially selected as a memorial to the late bassist Gary “Mani” Mournfield of The Stone Roses, who passed away in November 2025 due to chronic respiratory problems. Yates continued by outlining Turnstile‘s strategy for covers.

We’ve done covers for years. Typically, we’ve not recorded a lot of them, but we’ve done a lot of covers, different covers live, different bands. But this was a different experience ’cause we actually kind of got to actually lay it down in a studio. And it was cool. It felt good to kind of… especially when on tour and you’re playing your songs every night, to break from that and and play someone else’s.
