Sex Pistols got back together and performed for the first time since 2008. It was also the group’s first gig without Johnny Rotten, also known as John Lydon. The punk-rockers disclosed that Frank Carter (Gallows, Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes) will take over for Rotten when they announced a pair of benefit gigs earlier this year. The first of the two concerts was held at London’s Bush Hall Friday night, August 13th. Except for Rotten, every original member participated in the reunion. As a result, according to Setlist.fm, this was the first time Steve Jones, Paul Cook, and Glen Matlock had performed as the Sex Pistols live since September 5, 2008. Rotten led the group throughout the entirety of 2007 and 2008.

When they first announced the shows, the band promised to play their entire 1977 album “Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols”. As a result, last night’s set included 15 songs, including their biggest hits, “God Save the Queen” (to which they altered the lyrics) and “Anarchy in the U.K.” During the first of the two, Yungblud briefly entered the stage. They also performed three songs that were either B-sides or extra tracks that were not on the initial album release: “Did You No Wrong,” “Submission,” “Satellite,” and their version of “No Fun” by The Stooges
