Below is a fan-shot video of Sebastian Bach covering “I Wanna Rock” by Twisted Sister during two of his most recent performances: March 8 at The Newberry in Great Falls, Montana, and March 13 at Des Plaines Theatre in Des Plaines, Illinois, as per Blabbermouth.
Kid Wikkid‘s members lived in Peterborough, Ontario. Guitarist Jason Delorme hired 14-year-old Bach after he tried out for the group. After Kid Wikkid returned to Toronto, Bach‘s father eventually gave him permission to live with an aunt. Lead vocalist Matt Fallon led Skid Row when they first formed in the middle of the 1980s, and they started performing at several clubs in the New Jersey region. Skid Row was looking for a lead vocalist when Fallon left the group in 1987. After seeing Bach perform at the wedding of rock photographer Mark Weiss, Jon Bon Jovi’s parents approached him and advised him to contact Dave Sabo, their son’s friend, who was seeking a lead singer for his band.
After a brief tenure with Detroit’s Madam X, Bach was hesitant to join another American band. But after listening to Skid Row‘s demo tapes, Bach traveled to New Jersey to try out, and in early 1987 he was hired as the band’s lead vocalist. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Skid Row‘s first two albums, “Slave to the Grind” (1991) and “Skid Row” (1989), were certified multi-platinum and peaked at number one on the Billboard 200. “Subhuman Race”, the band’s third album, received high praise from critics in 1995. Bach was let out from the band in 1996 after they couldn’t agree on musical material.
However, there were reports that he had departed the band because his bandmates thought they shouldn’t open for Kiss. Prunella Scales, bandmate Rachel Bolan’s side project, was performing concurrently with the scheduled Kiss event. Bach left Skid Row as a result of his conflict with the other band members. Without Bach, Skid Row opened the 2000 Kiss Farewell Tour four years later.
