Below is a video of Slipknot drummer Eloy Casagrande, a former member of Sepultura, performing at The Europe Drum Show in Friedrichshafen, Germany, on April 11, as per Blabbermouth.

When Casagrande was seven years old, his mother gave him a toy drum, and a year later, he received a real drum kit. Aquiles Priester, a fellow Brazilian drummer, is credited with teaching him. At the age of 13, he won the Vera Figueiredo-sponsored Batuka International Drummer Fest in 2004. Casagrande went on to tour the United States the following year after winning Modern Drummer’s Undiscovered Drummer Contest 2005 in New Jersey. In November 2011, Casagrande took Jean Dolabella’s place at Sepultura. The second youngest member of Sepultura, he released three albums with the group before leaving in February 2024. Greyson Nekrutman, who took his position, is eleven years younger than him.

Casagrande is also well-known for his work with post-hardcore/metalcore band Gloria, Brazilian Christian metal band Iahweh, power metal vocalist Andre Matos, and guitarist João Hanysz on a group named Casagrande & Hanysz. Slipknot formally announced in April 2024 that Casagrande will take Jay Weinberg’s place as the band’s drummer. On April 25, 2024, he performed with the band for the first time at Pappy & Harriet’s Palace in California, USA. Eloy Casagrande won the 2024 Readers’ Poll for Best Metal Drummer from Modern Drummer magazine the year he joined the group.
