The most recent performer to play the “Star Spangled Banner” at an NFL game in the United States is Bruce Dickinson, as reported from loudersound. Before the Pittsburgh Steelers’ season-opening home game against the Seattle Seahawks, the Iron Maiden leader took the field in front of 66.347 people at Pittsburgh’s Acrisure Stadium, giving the US national anthem the full air siren treatment while helicopters circled overhead. Dickinson left the field to continuous cries of “U.S.A! U.S.A!” but, regrettably, Eddie was not present.
