Vestige unleash emotionally charged single “Envy”

French post-metal act Vestige has just dropped a crushing new single, “Envy”, out now via Season of Mist. Marking a stark departure from the sound of their debut album “Janis”, this track doesn’t just open a new chapter—it tears the book apart and starts over.

“Envy” is an unflinching dive into childhood trauma, built around a real, scarring memory. The track moves with the unease of memory itself—starting in fragile, clean passages before erupting into raw, distorted aggression. It’s a delicate balance between atmospheric post-metal and hard-hitting melodic fury, channeling the unpredictable tension between vulnerability and rage.

There’s no attempt at redemption here—just pure catharsis. The lyrics cut straight through, confronting themes of control, humiliation, and buried hate with brutal honesty. It’s not about healing. It’s about finally giving voice to pain that’s been silenced for too long.

Formed in 2023 the band blends modern metal with influences of shoegaze and emotional hardcore, using sound as a vessel for confronting deep emotional wounds.
