Rising from the underground scene between Greece and Germany, post metal explorers Unverkalt continue to push their sound into darker terrain. The band has now released “Introjects”, the third and final single from their upcoming album “Héréditaire”. With this track, they lean harder into a newly blackened direction while holding on to their cinematic roots.
From the opening moments, “Introjects” sinks into a dense, doomy trance driven by hypnotic bass lines. Soon after, the tension cracks open as tremolo guitars and sharp rhythms take over. Dimitra Kalavrezou moves between haunting clean vocals and harsher tones, which strengthens the song’s emotional weight. As a result, the track feels both intimate and confrontational.
Lyrically, the band reflects on inherited beliefs and borrowed identities. According to Unverkalt, these ideas often shape us without consent until something finally breaks. Therefore, “Introjects” becomes a moment of rupture. It is not just a stylistic shift but also a thematic one.
Guitarist and main composer Themis Ioannou has explained that blending black metal and post metal felt natural this time. Both genres meet head on throughout “Héréditaire”, and the heavier edge clearly hits harder. Meanwhile, the sweeping atmosphere that defined their earlier work remains intact.
The video for “Introjects” was produced by the band and directed by Ioannou at Rawbite Studio. It mirrors the song’s descent into darkness and release from the past.
“Héréditaire” will be released on February 27, 2026 through Season of Mist.
