On Instagram, a fan account has shared rare, recently discovered video of an unmasked Slipknot soundchecking for a local performance in Des Moines on New Year’s Day 2000. On October 17, 1999, The Nine performed their first major hometown show after releasing their self-titled debut album at the Super Toad Entertainment Center with Coal Chamber, Dope, and Powerman 5000. On January 1, 2000, as part of their World Domination Tour, they returned to the venue for a special New Year’s Day celebration. Fans may view footage of the band’s unmasked, everyday attire during the soundcheck as well as a clip of the performance when their signature red boilersuits and masks conceal their true identities, thanks to the Slipknotvideos_ account.
