Unén’s new single “Love Story” is a vampire romance

Unén, champions of modern melodic metal, released their powerful single “Dancing In Flames” earlier this year and have now unveiled the next taste of their upcoming album. With their new single “Love Story”, the band explores new territory, although the apparent calm is merely an illusion.

“Our previous single, ‘Dancing In Flames’, was a kind of release of energy for us – a heavy rock track that really went full throttle. With ‘Love Story’, we wanted to do something completely different. We deliberately decided to slow things down and give more room to melody and the story itself. We wanted to create a really tight, concise track with all the excess stripped away – every second and every word has a purpose,” the band explains.

Despite its slower pace, the new single may be even more emotionally gripping and intense than its predecessor. The same theme is brought to life in the accompanying music video, starring Unén’s frontwoman, Stina Girs.

“I’ve always been fascinated by the idea that somewhere out there, the right person is waiting for me – someone I’ve already loved in a previous life. The wait may last for years or even until the next lifetime, but when we finally meet, there’s no doubt that we recognise each other. ‘Love Story’ is a vampire romance. A love that lasts from one life and era to the next, forever.”

Stina Girs, who first came to public attention through Finland’s Idols competition, joined Unén as their vocalist in 2023. Since then, the band has released their album “Forever Winter” through Frontiers Music Srl in 2025. Now, Unén are already looking ahead to their next studio album and live shows planned for 2027, with dates to be announced later.
