Two members of KISS will throw out the first pitch at Angel Stadium this week

Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons will make a special appearance at a Major League Baseball game, as per Blabbermouth. On Saturday, August 15, the co-founders of KISS will be present at the Los Angeles Angels vs. Kansas City Royals game at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. The two were formally asked by the Los Angeles Angels to pitch the game’s ceremonial first pitch during the 2026 MLB season. One of the league’s older ballparks, known as “The Big A” and home to the Angels since the 1960s, will host the game, giving fans an opportunity to witness elite professional baseball. In the historic baseball stadium in Anaheim, the game highlights the daily competitive stakes of a regular-season series.

Simmons threw out the opening pitch prior to a Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Mets game at Dodger Stadium in July of 2011. Before the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox’s Crosstown Classic began in May 2018, Gene threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Wrigley Field. In 2014, Simmons, Stanley, and the rest of KISS‘s original lineup were admitted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. KISS was awarded the Kennedy Center Honours in December 2025.

On November 14, 2025, at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, the renowned rock stars began the 2025 “KISS Kruise: Landlocked In Vegas” with an unplugged outdoor performance. In remembrance of original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley, who passed away in October 2025 at the age of 74, Stanley urged audience members to raise the electric candles that had been distributed to everyone before the performance. The same weekend, Stanley, Gene Simmons, Eric Singer, and Tommy Thayer performed an electric “unmasked” event, which was KISS‘s first joint performance since they stopped touring in December 2023.
