London noise experimentalists Troy The Band return with their new single “Nothing”. It is the second preview from their upcoming album “(des)”, which arrives in 2026. The track wastes no time. It opens with fierce blast beats, then shifts into a jagged noise rock groove. Soon after, the chorus drags everything into doomy riffs and sharp dissonance. The band leans into the chaos and lets every twist hit hard.
Bassist Sean Durbin says the track grew into something strange and exciting. That energy spikes even more once guest vocalist Jake Packham steps in. Known for his work in Black Groove and Outback, he delivers a harsh and unpredictable performance. His back and forth with Durbin adds extra tension. Together, they push the song into darker and heavier territory.
“Nothing” follows their 2024 debut “Cataclysm” and last month’s single “Porous”. Both tracks reveal a new direction for the band. They parted ways with their original vocalist early in the studio process, which forced a shift. Instead of slowing down, they rebuilt “(des)” as a collaborative project. Musicians from Elephant Tree, Believe in Nothing, Codex Serafini and Black Orchids joined the sessions. Their contributions helped expand the band’s sound into new shapes.
The single was recorded at Bear Bites Horse Studio with producer Wayne Adams. The sessions also marked drummer Jack Revans becoming a permanent member. His presence locks in the rhythm section and gives the new material extra weight. The band plans to release one track each month until the full physical edition of “(des)” drops in 2026.
