“Tron: Ares” trailer drops — and it sounds like new Nine Inch Nails

Author Benedetta Baldin - 6.4.2025

The first taste of Nine Inch Nails‘ new music has arrived after a five-year hiatus. The first trailer for the impending third installment in the “Tron” film series, “Tron: Ares,” was recently released, and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-inducted industrial metal pioneers signed on to compose the music. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, the core foundation of Nine Inch Nails, have amassed a successful career in film and television composition over the years, winning nearly every major award in the process. However, this cinematic project sees the two composers working under the NIN banner. This third installment of the now-trilogy of films, which will release on October 10th, stars Jeff Bridges, Jared Leto, and other actors. The computerized inhabitants of the Tron universe, along with some of their recognizable forms of transportation and weaponry, unexpectedly appear in the real world in this movie. The dates for Nine Inch Nails‘ “Peel It Back World Tour,” which will see them perform alongside Boys Noize, have been announced. The band is back in action this year, as NIN‘s first tour since 2022.
