Swedish d-beat legends Totalitär have premiered their long-awaited self-titled album. “Totalitär” album lands today August 28th across Europe through De:Nihil, while Prank Records handles the North American release. You can stream the album in its entirety right now.
Formed in Hudiksvall in 1985, Totalitär helped define the sound of Swedish d-beat over the following decades. Their combination of speed, aggression, and political conviction shaped the country’s hardcore punk underground. Along the way, they inspired countless bands and earned lasting respect across the global scene.
The band built that reputation through landmark releases like “Multinationella Mördare”, “Luftslott”, and “Vänd Dig Inte Om”. Later records such as “Sin Egen Motståndare” and “Vi Är Eliten” further cemented their status. Throughout their catalog, the band channeled a deep distrust of authority and a firm opposition to abuse of power.
Additionally, the band will celebrate the album release with a special show in Malmö on September 26 alongside with Avskum and Warcollapse.
