Tony Iommi, a heavy metal legend, has revealed his first new solo album since 2005, as per theprp. The project, “From The Dark,” is scheduled to be released on October 23rd via BMG. Vocalist Jørn Lande (Masterplan, Jorn.) and others join him on this new song, “World Alone,” which marks the debut of the Black Sabbath legend’s new release. The music video for that song was directed by Ryan Mackfall. Lande appears frequently on this album, and Iommi also brought in drummer Karl Brazil (Robbie William, Feeder) and bassist Becky Baldwin (Mercyful Fate). Mike Exeter and Iommi co-produced it.
World Alone‘ is a thunderous rock song that speeds along on a barrage of flying guitar riffs and solos, backed by a driving rhythm section and topped off with the powerful rock operatics of acclaimed Norwegian vocalist Jorn Lande. The video is based around a retrofuture, dystopian universe where the lead protagonist, The Believer, is pitched into a twisted video game to save his life and ultimately find salvation.’
This new song will be released on September 4th, and a 7-inch single will be available in advance. Amazon will be the only retailer of a deluxe CD version that includes the two bonus tracks described above along with a unique 32-page booklet.

Tony Iommi is a heavy rock icon whose inventive, detuned, gloomy riffs are thought to have served as a model for hundreds of bands who came after. Tony, a left-hander who was born in Birmingham, England, on February 19, 1948, took up the guitar as a teenager after being influenced by bands like Hank Marvin & The Shadows. Iommi had a terrible accident at a sheet metal shop where a machine cut off the tips of his right hand’s fingers, almost ending his musical career too soon. He thought his days of playing the guitar were over, until a buddy introduced him to Django Reinhardt, a guitarist who lost two fingers in a campfire accident involving a gipsy caravan.
