Legendary heavy rock drummer Tommy Aldridge has revealed the first glimpse into a mysterious new project that is notably different from anything he has previously done. Behind-the-scenes footage from the project’s development in Los Angeles can be seen below.
The clip shows Aldridge behind the kit during filming, delivering an intense early look at the mysterious project currently taking shape. A longtime Yamaha artist, Aldridge performs on a Yamaha Maple Absolute drum kit in a Black Sparkle finish provided for the session. While details remain under wraps, the footage offers a powerful glimpse into a very different creative direction from one of rock’s most enduring and influential drummers.
“This is something new I’ve been quietly working on behind the scenes,” Aldridge said. “It’s still taking shape, and I’m not
quite ready to share all the details yet, but I’m genuinely excited about where it’s heading. It embodies my expression of ‘form following function’ captured by a unique methodology.” A photo from the session, featuring the Yamaha kit, was also shared via Tommy’s official Facebook page, OfficialAldridgeWorld, accompanied by the message:

Aldridge is expected to remain busy in the coming months with the full launch of his new official website, AldridgeWorld.com, during the first week of June, alongside several upcoming announcements, exclusive content releases, and additional projects currently in development.
