Tom Morello is an accomplished American guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and political activist. He gained fame for his involvement with the rock groups Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave. From 2016 to 2019, Morello was part of the supergroup Prophets of Rage. Additionally, he served as a touring musician for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Under the alias The Nightwatchman, Morello released his solo projects. Alongside Boots Riley, he established Street Sweeper Social Club. Morello also co-founded Axis of Justice, which broadcasts a monthly program on the Pacifica Radio station KPFK (90.7 FM) in Los Angeles. Born in Harlem, New York City, and raised in Libertyville, Illinois, Morello developed an interest in music and politics during his high school years. He attended Harvard University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Committee on Degrees in Social Studies. After the disbandment of his previous band Lock Up, Morello crossed paths with Zack de la Rocha. His guitar style is one of the most distinguished nowadays.
