Tom Morello announces a new solo album

Tom Morello, guitarist of Rage Against The Machine, will be dropping his first-ever solo rock album this year. Now he announced that the first single of the new album, with the name “Soldier In The Army”, will be released on June 28^th. This song was co-written with his 13-year-old son Roman Morello. Tom Morello described the song as “a generational rock anthem from the Morello’s”.

In 2023 Tom Morello told Rolling Stone how his relationship with his son and music were important to him.

“I’ve been very inspired by my 11-year-old son. I’ve been relegated to being the rhythm guitar player in my family now because my 11-year-old can shred circles around me. I’ve been inspired by him. He’s been writing some riffs, and I’ve been writing some riffs. It’s been fun.”

Tom Morello’s son, Roman Morello, already worked with his father on a single in 2021. He recorded the song “The Children Will Rise Up” with the child prodigy Nandi Bushell.
