Hungarian avant-garde metallist Thy Catafalque has released a new track “Mindenevö” with a music video. The song is taken from the upcoming album “XII: A Gyönyöru Álmok Ezután Jönnek”, the band’s twelfth full-length album. The album will come out on 14 November via Season of Mist.
The album is a dark and dreamlike journey through the soul of the band’s lead singer Tamás Kátai. The album’s opening track “Red carriage, black night” takes the listener on a journey into a haunted world. Attila Bakos sings the song in Hungarian: “Run with me, life / Whisper the stories”.
More than 20 musicians appear on the album, including familiar faces from the Hungarian metal music world. Violin, cello and clarinet bring a sense of homeyness. The song “Mindenevo” deals with the self-destructiveness of humanity.
Hungarian history is also reflected in several songs on the album. For example, “Vasgyár” is named after a rusty iron foundry that was once the country’s economic powerhouse. In the music video for the album’s title track, Kátai runs through her hometown and surreal scenes depicting the problems of the past and present.
