US rock band Thrice have officially announced their upcoming album “Horizons/West”, set for release on October 3rd, 2025, via Epitaph Records. The announcement comes alongside the debut of the hard-hitting lead single “Gnash,” which is now available below and on major streaming platforms. Pre-orders for the vinyl edition and exclusive merchandise are live at the band’s official store.
Described as a companion to 2021’s “Horizons/East”, the new album serves as a direct continuation—both thematically and sonically — while standing strong as a release in its own right. Produced and engineered by the band at New Grass Studios, “Horizons/West” features mixing by Scott Evans (Sumac, Pelican) and mastering by Matthew J. Barnhart (Fucked Up, Sumac), the same duo who worked on the band’s 2023 revisited version of “The Artist in the Ambulance”.
The album explores themes of identity, societal influence, digital noise, and inner transformation. It blends atmospheric post-rock elements, intricate rhythms, and the emotional intensity that marked Thrice’s early sound, creating a body of work that’s both grounded and ambitious.
Since emerging in the late ’90s, Thrice has been known for their fearless evolution and uncompromising creativity. From their early post-hardcore days to more recent experimental work, the band—Dustin Kensrue, Teppei Teranishi, Eddie Breckenridge, and Riley Breckenridge—continues to explore new territory while staying rooted in emotional honesty and technical precision. “Horizons/West” looks to build on that legacy, offering longtime fans a deep and dynamic new chapter.
To support the release, Thrice will embark on a North American headlining tour this fall, joined by Modern Color and Downward. The tour kicks off October 17th in San Diego and wraps with two nights in Anaheim on November 23rd and 25th.
