Thou drags Nine Inch Nails’ “Suck” through the sludge in crushing new cover

Baton Rouge sludge heavyweights Thou have dropped a crushing cover of Nine Inch Nail’s “Suck”, taken from the upcoming compilation album “Best Of Nine Inch Nails (Redux)”, due out October 27 via Magnetic Eye Records. Originally written by Pigface and later popularized by Nine Inch Nails, the track gets a gritty sludge-doom makeover in the hands of the Louisiana underground heavyweights.

Their version of “Suck” stays true to the song’s industrial roots but dials up the distortion, grit, and venom in classic Thou fashion. Buzzing riffs and snarled vocals give the track a suffocating intensity, perfectly blending their signature sound with the raw energy of early NIN.

The tribute album also features covers from bands like Spotlights, Low Flying Hawks, Heavy Temple, and Black Nail, each putting their own spin on a different NIN classic. Thou’s “Suck” appears as track 11 on the release, which arrives just in time for Halloween.

You can stream songs and pre-order the full compilation now through Bandcamp.
