British deathcore band Ingested‘s bassist Thomas O’Malley has announced his resignation, as per theprp. O’Malley made the following remarks regarding his departure in a statement posted on social media on May 30. Before securing a full-time position in 2025, O’Malley started touring with the group in 2022. In February of this year, Ingested sacked their vocalist Josh Davies due to unsettling accusations that Davies openly denied, making 2026 a difficult year for the band. Davies’ vocals were later rerecorded by the group for their then-unreleased most recent album, “Denigration.” Sean Hynes and Andrew Virrueta, the band’s guitarists and vocalists, took the stage to edit the record before it was released on May 8.
I’ve decided to step away from Ingested. I’m grateful for my time in the band and for the experiences over the years. I’ve had a great time playing shows, touring, and being part of the journey, and I wish the guys the absolute best for the future and continued success with the new record and beyond.
I’m now focusing on new musical opportunities and I’m available for touring, recording, and session work as a bassist and guitarist. If anyone needs a player, feel free to get in touch.
Lead singer Jason Evans, drummer Lyn Jeffs, guitarists Sean Hynes and Sam Yates, and bassist Brad Fuller were all founding members of the band when it was formed in Manchester, England in May 2006. In the past, Hynes and Jeffs were members of the deathcore group Annotations of an Autopsy. Evans, Hynes, and Yates were previously members of the death metal group Age of Suffering. In June 2009, Ingested‘s debut album, “Surpassing the Boundaries of Human Suffering”, was released after they signed with Candlelight Records and Siege of Amida Records. Ingested made its European debut in 2010 as a part of the Bonecrusher Fest, which featured Carnifex, 3 Inches of Blood, and the Faceless in addition to The Black Dahlia Murder.
