As we reported last week, the Swedish dark 80s style synth-pop band Priest, which partly consists of former band members of the Swedish rock heavyweights Ghost, is currently touring the US alongside Aesthetic Perfection and Julien-K. The tour’s kick-off show on 2 April 2026 at the legendary “Whisky A Go Go” in Los Angeles was eagerly anticipated, not only by those in attendance, but also for what it might reveal about the band’s big reboot. Contrary to previous indications, the masked trio continues to perform in its third incarnation, meaning that Priest‘s Sweden shows in Stockholm and Jönköping in August 2025 were not their final performances in this form ahead of the planned reboot. Based on the title of their current US tour, “Resurrection”, it remains to be seen whether frontman Mercury 3.0 will continue for longer. Musically, however, the focus is on the future. The set in Los Angeles was opened with “World On A Wire“, and the audience also witnessed the world premiere of Priest‘s upcoming single “Zombie Night“, which will be released “exclusively on vinyl” on 6 June 2026. Below, you can check out some video footage from said world premiere:
