Delain’s “Dark Waters”, the seventh studio album by the Dutch symphonic metal band, marks a new chapter for the group. The LP is the first studio album to feature Diana Leah on vocals and Ludovico Cioffi on bass guitar. It also marks the return of original guitarist Ronald Landa and drummer Sander Zoer.
So, after seismic line-up changes, (longtime singer Charlotte Wessels left the band in 2021) keyboardist and songwriter Martijn Westerholt decided to forge ahead. Delain is still alive and the vibe in the symphonic metal has been refreshed. Just listen to their new opus and you will see for youself.
A few days ago, Chaoszine sat down with Martijn Westerholt to talk about this new era in the band; the process of resilience and the will to move forward. Outside of music, Westerholt tells us how he experienced the semi-final match between Netherlands and Argentina during the Qatar 2022 World Cup!
